R v A.S 2023 ONCA 649
A man convicted of 33 counts of voyeurism asked to stay out of jail while his appeal was decided. The Ontario Court of Appeal said no. The judge found a long, planned history of targeting women and girls, sureties who could not control him, and crimes serious enough that releasing him would shake public trust in the justice system. Bail was refused on both grounds the law allows.
